How do I start the process of forming a team for a particular sport in my organization?
In general, most organizations start their program by finding a volunteer who is interested in being the coach for the program. The coach will then identify days/times when the children will practice as well as send out an announcement recruiting players for the program.
What sports will BASYC (Building A Solid Youth Community) be offering for the upcoming school year?
BASYC will be offering four sporting events during the school year. • Fall - Kickball (Season begins in September)• Winter – Indoor Soccer & 3 vs 3 Basketball (Season begins in November)• Spring – BASYC Olympics (Season beginning in March)
Do I need a copy of their birth certificate in order to register?
No, you do not need to provide a birth certificate in order to register but your organization is responsible for league age ruling.
How do I find out if a game is cancelled due to inclement weather?
Call the weather-hotline approximately 1-2 hours prior to game time for the status of your game. Weather Hot-line Ph# (877)-WEBASYC 932-2792.
Do you offer early registration discounts?
Yes! The earlier you register for a program, the more you save! You do not need a promo code, as the discounted fee will be automatically applied. Early, Regular and Late seasonal registration entry.
Are all of your programs co-ed?
All of the sports that we offer are co-ed, unless noted.
Are awards given out during your program?
Yes, we provide awards for 1st place division champions and 2nd place runner-up champion awards at the end of the season.
Do you have trained officials at games?
Yes, we have trained officials at all BASYC sporting events.
What age divisions do you offer?
Our age groups range from 5 -18 years of age. D1-6U, D2-8U, D3-10U, D4-12U, D5-14U, D6-16U and D7-18U. D/division-U/Under (Age determined as of September 1st of the current school year).
When will game schedule become available?
BASYC do our very best to have league schedules completed 7 days prior to opening day. Team schedules are not compiled until registration is closed.
What is the boy to girl ratio on each team?
BASYC ratio of boy to girl players are for example: 10 players (4 females), 6 players (2 females) and 3 players (1 female) is a must in active play.
How does the "no pass, no play" rule works?
The "no pass, no play" policy aims to connect academic performance with extracurricular involvement, encouraging scholars to prioritize their studies. Students who receive failing grades below a 70 in any academic class are deemed ineligible for extracurricular activities until their grade improves. The BASYC league represents the "honor system" which is a system that relies on the honesty, trust, and integrity of the organization to follow rules or guidelines.
